Lots of trees and green space.  Recommended for guys who drive to work, but there is also convenient bus access one block away on Pennsylvania Avenue. About 1 mile from the Potomac Ave and Anacostia metro stations. Convenient commute by car to Capitol Hill (9 minutes), Georgetown Law Center and Johns Hopkins-SAIS (9 minutes), the Pentagon (16 minutes), and Old Town Alexandria (20 minutes). Also Coast Guard HQ (9 minutes), Suitland Federal Center (9 minutes), and JBAB (11 minutes).  The Numbers Bedroom 1 is $985/mo and Bedroom 2 is $1285/mo. Utilities run to about $90/mo per person. We keep a non-smoking, pet-free home. We can do a 6-12 month lease, with the option to extend.

Sunny English Basement in SE DC
For rent is a recently renovated basement apartment directly across the river from Navy Yard. The Location The house is located on a quiet block in the otherwise vibrant neighborhood of Historic Anacostia. It’s a 4-minute walk to the Green Line (Anacostia metro station) and the Circulator (to Barracks Row). Anacostia metro station is one stop from Navy Yard (Nats park, DC United Audi Field, Harris Teeter, Blue Jacket, etc). The house is approximately a 10-minute drive from the US Capitol. It’s also a short walk to local eateries (Busboys & Poets, Kitchen Savages, Starbucks, Mama's Pizza, Turning Natural juice bar + more), cultural attractions (Anacostia Arts Center, Anacostia Playhouse, etc) and parks (Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, Anacostia Riverwalk Trail, etc). The Space The basement apartment is approximately 550 square feet with a separate entrance, full kitchen, separate bedroom and full bathroom. Since half of the unit is above-ground, it gets a lot more natural light than a typical basement. Other features include an in-unit washer/dryer, stainless steel appliances, and an ADT security system. The Housemates The apartment is completely separate from the rest of the house, which is occupied by three friendly Christian male professionals. While everyone keeps busy with work, ministry, and hobbies, the roommates like hanging out in the common areas together too. So there is an option for as much or as little socializing as desired :-) The Details Rent is $1400 + share of utilities. The lease term is a year and the unit will become available as early as 8/1. Optional off-street parking is also available for $50/month. If interested, please send me an email: anacostiahouse@gmail.com

Seeking childcare two afternoons/week (for payment or housing): Arlington
Hello! We are a Christian family of two boys (6 and 9) who live in Arlington (near Ballston) and are seeking childcare Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 - 5:00 during the 2024-25 academic year, as I'll be teaching a class at GW Law during this time. We are looking for someone committed, responsible, and who enjoys children; we'd love to find someone who can drive but would keep driving to a minimum. About us: Henry (9) enjoys creating things, reading, and sports. William (6) enjoys creative play, being read to, and Legos! Both enjoy being outside, and we have a lot of nature near our house that we take. We are involved in our church, McLean Presbyterian, the boys' school (Rivendell School, just a few miles away) and enjoy being outside and being in community. William won't have school on Mondays, and both boys get out at 1:00 on Wednesdays. Most afternoons will involve a "rest time" (boys spend an hour in separate rooms playing and listening to a book on CD), some time outdoors, a snack, and potentially drop off at an activity. Additional information: We could offer compensation in the form of payment (if additional hours are required to make this work, we could consider that), or could also offer housing in exchange for the above hours plus some additional babysitting to be worked out; our home has a separate basement unit with a kitchen, living space, bedroom and bathroom. We enjoy other people and being involved in community, but the space is also lovely and private as well. Either option could be a great fit for someone who is a student or with a flexible work schedule who loves kids, and we'd be excited to have you as a part of our family life! Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with questions or interest! We'd love to get to know you as you consider this opportunity. Ann Woods annwoods@alumni.virginia.edu

CF Seeking Roommate - Georgetown 2 Bedroom Apartment
Hi! I am looking for a female roommate to join me at 2 bedroom Georgetown. Move in August 23rd-1st of September (12 month lease, after 12 months it automatically is month to month) My name is Caroline and I have lived in DC in this apartment for two years. One of my favorite things about this apartment is it’s SO walkable - 95 walk score! It’s within walking distance to Trader Joe’s (6 min walk), Safeway, (4min walk), Whole Foods (11 min walk), CVS (10 min walk), Starbucks (4 min walk), Gyms, and several restaurants/cafes/coffee shops/salons, etc. Also, Georgetown is such a beautiful, nice, clean, safe neighborhood with gorgeous architecture all around. The apartment is a 2 bed 1 bath basement apartment. Hardwood floors in the living area and carpet in the bedrooms. The kitchen has all new cabinets and stainless appliances and brand new AC. The parking is street parking (zone 2- a yearly pass is only $50 and can park anywhere in the zone 2 area. I am always able to find parking). The utilities are included with the exception of electricity (~$30/each and $30/each internet). There is no in-unit laundry, but the community laundry space is right by our unit so it feels like having it in the unit. Rent is $2,194, so that’s $1097 each + electric & internet. I have found this to be significantly cheaper than any other options I found in Georgetown and other DC neighborhoods. A little bit about me. I am 24 years old and graduated from Auburn University in Alabama in May 2022 with a degree in interior design. I work at a residential interior design firm in DC. I work 9-5:30 M-F. My evenings typically consist of me cooking dinner and winding down with some reading or tv. On the weekends you might find me at a coffee shop, going on walks, going to church on Sunday, and exploring DC. I’m not much of a partier but I am social. I like to keep my space clean and tidy and am respectful of others' spaces and needs. Here is a link to all photos: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-GjvLq_IgbFvwVjna_U6tdQ2oJdlbxyX?usp=drive_link The common area is fully furnished. The available bedroom is not furnished. Sorry no cats, I'm allergic. Dogs are allowed. If you would like to hear more info or have any questions please reach out and send me a message! We can set up a phone call and I can give you a tour.

Seeking CF Roommate for Lovely House in Petworth $800/Month - Available August 25th
We are in search of a Christian housemate to rent an upstairs bedroom (7.25 x 9 ft.) in our lovely all-women row house in the Petworth neighborhood of DC. The location is quiet, with the benefit of being a few blocks from multiple grocery stores, a metro stop, coffee shops and great restaurants, and a public library! We are seeking a 4th housemate who wants to join a friendly, clean, peaceful, faithful Christian household. Rent is a little under $800/month + utilities. The Room: The room comes furnished with a bed, desk and chair and can come furnished with a small fabric dresser if desired. The owner of the room will also be allocated a closet directly outside the room. About Us: 3 Christian women (ages 23-30) who work at various non-profits in the city and each attend a local church. The shared kitchen, living room, dining room, basement, and 3 bathrooms(!) have been remodeled and have beautiful interior design and natural light. There is one full bathroom upstairs and two half-baths (one on the main floor and one in the basement), and we use the full basement as a common room and for extra storage. The backyard is two-tiered with a back deck and brick patio with an amazing view of the city below. Transportation, Parking, Local Amenities: The neighborhood is quiet and the house is a 15-minute walk from the Petworth/Georgia Ave. metro stop on the Yellow/Green line, and there are lots of bus routes nearby. There is street parking (Zone 4c), and Catholic University of America and the CUA metro stop (on the Red line) are 10-15 minute drive. Capitol Hill and downtown are about 20 minutes away by car. There are cute, local restaurants on Upshur Ave. only a few minutes away, and a Safeway and Yes! Organic Market only a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive from the house. Rock Creek Park also is a 10-minute drive or a ~35 minute jog. Ideal housemate: We are looking for a housemate who is clean, conscientious, dependable, and considerate. We are relaxed and low-key, in and out of the house for work, church, and social events. While we each have our own lives, friends, and communities, we also take time to socialize together informally, as well as through casual house dinners and parties. We have a routine for house chores. No pets or smoking allowed. Rental terms: The room is available to rent the weekend of the 25th/26th of August. You would be signing on to the present lease, which runs through May 2025, (You can move out at any time as long as you find someone to replace yourself, and everyone must agree to re-sign the lease with the new person.) The room rents for a little under $800 per month. Utilities are split equally between us and usually range from $50 to $100, depending on the time of year.

Hi! I am a Non-smoking Christian Female, seeking 2 housemates of the same. A little about me, I am in my early 30s, a software engineer who works from home. I go to a local church, and volunteer as discussion group leader and worship leader at a local Bible study. We have two cats, so looking for cat friendly folks, but unable to have additional pets. The 3 furnished rooms for rent are bright and airy. The smaller one is 95 sqft at $910 plus utilities, available in mid-August, and the room next to it is 116 sqft with a bigger closet at $965 plus utilities. If both rooms are rented out, rent will be lowered for both housemates as the bathroom will be shared. The final furnished room is in fact, a whole floor, which includes private bathroom, a workout area, and an open-air balcony that's more than 200 sqft. Household goods are included in the rent. My heart is to build a Christian community; where the common areas are a flexible place to hang, hold small groups, Bible studies, get-togethers, prayer meetings, and board games. The townhouse is located in The Towns at Boulevard VI in City of Fairfax and has four flours, about 2800 square feet. Here is the link to the floor plan: https://webassetsprdnvrsan.blob.core.windows.net/files/b305566f-1d82-43ae-92ed-3a2f2261977c The house is walking distance from the Shops at Fairfax, 99 Ranch, Aldi, Starbucks, Planet Fitness, Indian markets, CVS, Lowes, Cava, Fairfax Presbyterian Church, parks, Walmart, McDonalds, Burger King, and many restaurants.
